Birsa Agricultural University or BAU Ranchi is committed to developing areas of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Forestry. The University has been recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC) and it is a member of The Association of Indian Universities (AIU). BAU is a complete residential university. Birsa Agricultural University follows semester system of education. Birsa Agricultural University Ranchi provides for quarters for staff and hostels for boys / girls. Computer center, Guest house, Health care center, Cultural and Sports activities are other facilities. Placement Cell assists students to avail job opportunities.

Undergraduate Courses
Admission to different undergraduate programmes is done through bifold procedure. 15% of total seats are filled by a Combined Competitive Entrance Examination conducted by I.C.A.R. V.C.I. at all India level and 85% of the total seats are filled by Jharkhand Combined Competitive Entrance Examination Board, Ranchi.

  • College of Agriculture
    The college of Agriculture offers a four-year course leading to the B.Sc.(Ag.) degree. The programmes of the college are carried through a network of twelve Departments viz. Agril. Physics, Economics, Entomology, Statistics & Computer Application, Agril Extension Education, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Crop Physiology, Agril. Engineering and Soil Science and Agril. Chemistry.

  • College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry
    College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry offers 5-year B.V.Sc. (degree) programme through a network of 17 departments namely Anatomy, Animal Breeding and Genetics, A.H. Extension Education, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Clinical, Medicine, Microbiology, Parasitology, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Veterinary Public Healthand Epidemiology, Surgery and Radiology, Animal Production, Animal Nutrition, Physiology, LPT, Preventive Medicine, Pathology and Vety. Biochemistry, Courses on Forage Crops Pisciculture and Apiculture are also offered to undergraduate students along with other production courses.

  • College of Forestry
    College of Forestry offers four-year degree course. The faculty has seven departments in the College, namely Silviculture, Forest Management, Forest Products Utilization, Extension and Social Forestry, Wildlife Management, Ecology & Environment and Forest Science.
